Keyframes, transitions, and titles in the Mac editor

More of your projects now open in the Mac app's native editor. It plays keyframed motion, all twenty clip transitions, and text titles, and you can add and change them there.

Keyframes

Video and image clips can animate position, size, rotation, scale, and opacity, with every easing the web editor offers. In Inspect, the diamond beside a property adds or removes a keyframe at the playhead, and the arrows beside it jump to the previous or next keyframe. Changing an animated value adds a keyframe at the playhead.

Transitions

Fades, slides, the push, wipes, the iris, zooms, the spin, and the stylized washes all play in the native editor. The Transitions section in Inspect sets a clip's in and out transition and its length. Cmd+T adds a cross fade at the selected clip's cuts, or at the cut nearest the playhead.

Titles

Click Add title in the Text tab, or in Inspect with nothing selected, to add a title at the playhead. Inspect changes its text, size, color, and alignment. Titles look the same as in your export, including the box, outline, shadow, and underline. Roboto comes with the app; any other font must be installed on your Mac.

Choose which tracks an edit moves

Track headers now work like Resolve's. Click the V or A badge on a track to send new video or audio there. The target icon at the end of each header is Auto Track Select: turn it off to keep a music bed or a title where it is when you insert or ripple delete on another track. Both settings save with the project, and the web editor keeps them.

Still in the web editor

Keyframes on volume or color, keyframes and transitions on audio clips and titles, animated text, effects, and masks still open the project in the web editor.
