Overlapping clips from the same file keep separate preview positions. After a seek finishes, later loading events no longer pull the preview back to the old position.
Follow the latest scrub position
Scrubbing on the native Mac timeline lets the current seek finish before moving to your newest requested position. The web preview prepares each overlapping video layer and stops using decoded frames once their time has passed.
Reuse local media
Local imports use their already-loaded media for decoded preview and audio. Leaving an edit releases its decoded sound. Scrubbing keeps cached frames within a shared memory budget.
Keep previews and sound together
Hover previews now prepare media at the position being previewed. Leaving the timeline restores the playhead preview. Audio synchronization accounts for time between playback updates, avoiding unnecessary restarts when an update arrives late. Idle audio can start loading on play, and evicted clips release their audio connections.
Keep playback frames moving
The preview keeps showing available video frames while playback catches up. Ready browser playback no longer competes with an extra video decoder. Uploaded videos can switch to an optimized preview once it is ready, while keeping the original file.
Scrubbing gives the frame under the needle priority over background prefetch. Frames already being prepared can be reused when you drag into them, and background scrub preparation stops when playback starts.
