Markers & Guides
Drop markers as you work, sort them by category, and turn the chapter ones into a YouTube chapter list.
Markers are notes you leave on the timeline. They don't change the edit; they just tell you (or a collaborator) what's going on at a given moment.
Dropping and jumping
Press M to add a marker at the playhead. Shift+M removes the marker at the playhead when one is nearby. Press [ and ] to jump to the previous and next one, which is the fastest way to walk a long edit.
G adds a guide instead, a vertical line you line clips up against. Shift+G removes the guide at the playhead when one is nearby.
Categories
Every marker carries a category, and the category sets its color on the timeline:

Use them however you like. A common split is Fix for the things you still owe the edit, Highlight for the moments you want to clip out later, and Chapter for structure.
The Marker Manager
The Marker Manager lists every marker in order. From there you can rename one, change its category, click to jump the playhead to it, or delete it. It's also where Suggest B-roll and Generate chapters live. See B-roll & Chapters.
Director notes
Every row in the Marker Manager has a Director note field under the marker name. Write what you want changed at that point, for example "pull music" or "warm this shot". Typing in it moves the marker to the Fix category on its own, so your notes are red on the timeline until they're dealt with. Clearing the field removes the note. Each note carries a status, shown under the field: pending, running, applied, rejected, or failed.
Run director notes in the Marker Manager header sends every pending note to Vibe as one batch. The button shows how many are pending and stays disabled when there are none. Vibe treats each note as a separate named operation scoped to its marker's time or range, makes the smallest edit that note needs, and then writes back the status on that marker along with the operation name and a concrete before/after. Notes are never merged into one opaque edit, so every change stays reviewable and undoable on its own.
Copy chapters
Copy chapters turns your Chapter markers into a YouTube chapter list and puts it on your clipboard, one line per chapter:
