Remove Noise
Reduce background noise in video or audio, then preview and download the result.
Remove Noise cleans the audio track of a video or an audio file. Upload, pick a strength, pick a format, export.
Set Noise reduction to Light, Medium, or Strong. Medium is the default.
Noise reduction
Remove Noise uses a non-AI FFT denoiser at a fixed noise floor of -40 dB. The three settings change the amount of reduction. It does not separate speakers or guarantee removal of all background sound.
| Setting | Reduction |
|---|---|
| Light | 6 dB |
| Medium | 12 dB |
| Strong | 20 dB |
Start at Light on a recording that is nearly clean. Strong removes more, but it takes more of the voice with it.
Listen to the source and output previews before downloading. Use Replace to try another recording after processing finishes.
Output formats
From a video you get MP4, MP3, or WAV. From an audio file you get MP3 or WAV.
MP4 keeps the first video stream and the cleaned first audio track, and re-encodes to H.264 with AAC audio at 128 kbps. MP3 is 192 kbps. WAV is uncompressed 16-bit PCM.
Only the first audio track survives
It processes the first audio stream and discards the rest. A file with separate language or channel tracks comes back with one.
Limits
- You need to be signed in. It does not spend credits.
- Uploads are capped at 50 MB.
- Up to 5 exports per minute.
- Processing runs on the server, not in your browser, and stops at 4 minutes.
- The export drops the source file's metadata.
- A file with no audio track fails. The error tells you so.
