Save on AI Cost
How Vibe usage is counted, and the handful of habits that keep it low.
Vibe is the part of Klipeo that costs money to run, so it's worth knowing how the meter works and how to keep it down. The short version: run it on your own machine when you can, and do more per message.
How usage is counted
It depends on which engine you're on.
Klipeo cloud
Runs on our servers and counts against your plan. The Vibe header shows a live usage pill with the running cost and the input and output tokens for the session.
Local engines
Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and OpenCode run through the bridge on your own machine and your own account, so Klipeo doesn't meter them. The usage pill stays empty for these.
There are also daily turn limits, where one "turn" is one message you send to Vibe:
| Account | Turns per day on Klipeo cloud |
|---|---|
| Standard | 20 |
| Upgraded | 500 |
Limits reset at the start of each day (UTC), and they're counted per account, not per project. Local engines don't count against this, since they're not running on our servers.
Points, and what they're for
Separate from turns, AI generation runs on points. Points are priced flat at 1 USD = 100 points, and before a generation runs Klipeo shows you the estimated point cost so nothing is a surprise.
The thing to know is what points don't touch: editing. Cutting, color, audio, collaboration, and export are never metered. Running out of points only stops new generations. The lifetime plan includes 10,000 bonus points; the others start at zero and you top up if and when you want to generate.
The habits that keep it low
Run Vibe locally
This is the big one. If you already have Claude Code or the Gemini CLI set up, point Vibe at it through the bridge. It's free to run and doesn't touch your Klipeo turns at all. Use the cloud engine when you want zero setup or you're on a fresh machine.
Ask for more in one message
Every message is a turn. So instead of three separate asks:
Remove the silences.
Now add captions.
Now punch in on the cuts.say it once:
Remove the silences, add captions, and punch in on the cuts.Same result, a third of the turns. Vibe is happy to do several things at once.
Lean on Skills
A Skill packs a whole sequence into one turn. "Make TikTok" reframes, captions, and adds a hook in a single go. If you do something often, a Skill is both faster and cheaper than spelling it out each time.
Be specific
Vague asks lead to back-and-forth, and back-and-forth burns turns. "Cut this to 45 seconds, keep the hook up front, captions at the bottom" gets you there in one message. "Make it good" usually takes a few.
Watch the pill
On the Klipeo cloud engine, glance at the usage pill in the Vibe header now and then. It shows the running cost for the session, so there are no surprises. There's no spending cap to set, so the pill plus the daily turn limit are how you stay in control.
