Mac & Mobile Apps
Klipeo runs in the browser, in a native Mac window, and on your phone. Here is what each one does and where to get it.
Klipeo is one product with three ways in. The browser at klipeo.com has everything. The Mac app is a native window with native screen recording and a native editor of its own. The mobile app puts your projects, chats, and the composer on your phone.
The Mac app
Download it from klipeo.com/download. It needs macOS 14.0 or later.
Open the .dmg, drag Klipeo into Applications, then sign in through your browser
the first time.
The Mac app is not the web editor in a frame. Every navigation to an /editor/
URL is intercepted and opens the native editor instead. Adding ?desktopNative=0
to the URL is the only way to get the web editor back.
The native editor is capability gated by an explicit allowlist. It covers composition settings, tracks, video, image and audio clips, trimming, track controls, transforms, crop, opacity, blend modes, retiming, groups, markers, bookmarks, guides, proxy media, and Vibe patches. Keyframes, effects, masks, transitions, subtitles, text elements, and adjustment layers are not on the list, so a composition that uses any of them opens in the web editor instead.
What the Mac app adds over the browser:
- Native screen recording. The recorder captures the screen, a window, or an area you draw, and writes a sidecar file with the exact cursor position, every click, and keyboard shortcuts. The editor reads that file, so auto-zoom follows your real cursor and click effects land on the right frame.
- A Hide desktop icons switch in the recorder settings, for a clean desktop in a demo.
- A real window with its own Dock icon and menu bar.
Web-only changes arrive with the web deploy. Swift code and the native editor do not: those need a new binary. There is no in-app updater, so when the app itself changes, download the new build from the same page and drag it over the old one.
If macOS blocks the app
The app is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID, so macOS may say it cannot verify the developer. Right-click Klipeo in Applications, choose Open, then confirm. You only need to do this once.
The mobile app
The Android app is available today as a direct download from klipeo.com/mobile. It needs Android 8.0 or later. Open the APK on your phone and allow installs from your browser when Android asks; Google Play will replace the direct download when the listing is live. The iOS app is next; join the waitlist to be told when it ships.
The mobile app signs you in with the same account. After sign-in, it opens the responsive web app inside the app window: the same home, sidebar, composer, projects, chats, connectors, settings, and editor you see in a phone browser. Changes to those web screens arrive with the web deployment; they do not require a separate native UI update. An internet connection is required.
Sign-in and the introductory tour remain native. Pricing, credits, and payment history use the same mobile web design, with purchases and restores handled by native Google Play Billing. External websites open in your browser. Android's Back button goes back through the web page history.
The introductory tour includes native demonstrations that remain available when the embedded web demonstrations cannot load. After Google or another provider returns to the app, Klipeo checks the session before opening your account. If that check fails, the sign-in sheet shows a message so you can try again. Android uses the native Google account picker. If Google Play services or this build's sign-in configuration is unavailable, the sheet explains the problem without opening a second login in the browser.
Klipeo also works in a phone browser. The projects home, the sidebar, and the project workspace have a phone layout, and the editor opens straight into a full-screen Vibe view on a small screen.
